# Sending lcDOT

**🚨** **Exchanges do not support lcDOT transfers. Sending lcDOT to an exchange will result in a loss of funds.**

## Sending **lcDOT**

Users can send lcDOT through the portfolio page on [Acala Apps](https://apps.acala.network/).

1\) Scroll to the bottom of the page where lcDOT is listed and click `Transfer`.

2\) Select or paste in the `Recipient` address. Enter the amount of lcDOT you'd like to transfer. Click `Transfer`. It's recommended that you enable `Keep Alive` checks so that your lcDOT balance doesn't get removed due to low balance.

🚨 If you are pasting in an address, **PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK THAT IT PASTED CORRECTLY BEFORE SENDING.**

3\) Confirm that you are not sending lcDOT to an exchange address. If you send lcDOT to an exchange, you will lose your funds. Click `Confirm`.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://wiki-apps.acala.network/general/bringing-tokens-to-karura/sending-lcdot.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
